La pointe courte is the directorial debut of Agnès Varda, a director who would shortly after become the 'mother of the Nouvelle Vague'. The film is divided into two episodes: the first consists of sequences of daily life in the fishing village of La Pointe Courte; in the second the relationship of a couple is shown: he lives in the town and she in Paris.
