David Serra and Irene Sala are the authors of El poder de les paraules, a documentary about one of the most outstanding Catalan-language writers of our time, the Mallorcan Antònia Vicens (Santanyí, 1941). The story of an honest and persevering woman who struggles to escape pre-established roles and finds the path to freedom in writing.
Throughout her long career, Antònia Vicens has published novels, stories, short stories and poetic compilations and her books have been translated into German, French, Portuguese and Spanish. She has collected up to fourteen awards and distinctions, including the National Poetry Award from the Ministry of Culture in 2018 or the most recent, the Premi d'Honor de les Lletres Catalanes de Òmnium cultural in 2022.
El poder de les paraules is an audiovisual story that wants to pay tribute to her figure and bring her closer to all audiences. A Tots Contents production, with the participation of IB3 Televisió, which is now being shown at the Teatre Principal in Santanyí.
