This exhibition presents the projects developed by artists Murad Khan Mumtaz and Yara El-Sherbini during their residencies at the Victoria & Albert Museum (UK), ZKM (Germany) and the Gallery La Caja Blanca de Palma.
Murad Khan Mumtaz (Pakistan 1980) is one of the most prominent members of the new generation of Oriental miniaturist maestros. His work draws on the ancient miniature technique Mughal, to develop a contemporary artistic discourse from the Eastern and Western visual languages.
Meanwhile, Yara El-Sherbini (1978) is a British artist of Egyptian father and Caribbean mother who uses different visual languages always displaying a sense of dry humor. Since 2002 he has participated in numerous group exhibitions and in 2006 he held his first individual one in La Caja Blanca.
