It's an Italian-German-French film by director Jean-Jacques Annaud released in 1986 and starring Sean Connery in the role of the Franciscan friar William of Baskerville and Christian Slater as the novice Adso of Melk, based on the novel of the writer Umberto Eco. It is projected on an unusual movie set: the beautiful Gothic chapel of Bellver castle. Original version subtitled in Spanish.
