‘La nit de Catalina Homar’

The Mallorcan writer José Carlos Llop  premieres in theatrical literature with this work in which he gives voice to Catalina Homar, the most popular lover of the Archduke Lluís Salvador. A production of the Teatre Principal de Palma.

The monologue, played by Catalina Solivellas, breaks the 'secret curtain' surrounding the figure of Homar. The character speaks to us from death, in a scenario that looks like purgatory.

The soul of Catherine Homar explains how her life was, and how Lluís Salvador opened an unimaginable universe for a peasant woman from the late 19th century.
