The Municipal Band of Palma, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016, proposes in this concert a program dedicated to refined impressionistic music. Directed by its lead conductor Salvador Sebastià López, as soloist will perform the acclaimed pianist Enrique Bernaldo de Quiros.
The first part is a Tribute to Maurice Ravel (1875-1937) by Jaume Porcel, with orchestration of Biel Torres, and An American in Paris, a work of symphonic classical music of composer George Gershwin (1928).
In the second part will be heard a classic piece of ballet, Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, and Fausto (scenes of Act V), opera by Charles Gounod.
