The motet is a polyphonic composition created in the twelfth century to be sung in churches with generally biblical text. Great composers have dedicated part of their production to it, like Anton Bruckner (1824-1896), who is considered the most representative as he composed over 30 motets throughout his life.
This Austrian composer and organist is part of the concert repertoire, also including works of the authors Josef Gabriel Rheinberg (1839-1901) and Augusto Sondermann (1832-1876).
This concert, directed by Carles Ponseti Verdaguer, concludes the 2012-2013 concert season of the Foundation Studium Aureum.
