The Sant Antoni festivities in Arta are particularly relevant, being one of the places in Mallorca where the people live more faithful to tradition. The most representative moments of this event, coinciding with the feast of the saint, are shown in this exhibition of photographs presented by Miquel Riutort in the Museu d'Arta.
Besides its artistic nature, this selection of images is of great documental value, capturing the moments that define these festivities and that have remained unchanged over time. The most recognizable are the chocolatada (the drinking of chocolate) before, L'Acapte, las completes (Complines) the foguerons (bonfires), the ride or Beneïdes (the blessing of the animals).
And of course the saint, Sant Antoni, surrounded by the two demons.
