Concerto for choir, strings and piano within the 2015/2016 season of the Fundació Studium Aureum. It is directed by Carles Ponseti and dedicated to the work of composer Arvo Pärt (Paide, 1935), pioneer of minimalist music and more specifically of sacred minimalism.
The program consists of Solfeggio (for choir and strings), Für Alina / für Anna Maria (for piano), Wheihnachtliches Wiegenlied (for female choir and strings), Variationen von zur Gesundung Arinuschka (for piano), Morning Star (for chorus a cappella), Es sang vor langen Jahren (for contralto, violin and viola), Da pacem Domine (for choir and strings), Spiegel im Spiegel (for viola and piano), Eesti hällilaul (for female choir and strings), Mozart-Adagio (for violin, cello and piano) and Salve Regina (for choir, strings and celesta).
Half an hour before the concert, composer Mercè Pons will give a talk on the works and life of the Estonian composer.
