Director of the Bauhaus School between 1930 and 1933, Mies van der Rohe was an architect and industrial designer of whom today we continue reminding slogans like 'Less is more' or 'God is in the details'.
This documentary is narrated by her biographer Franz Schulze and is part of the set of productions held in 1986 to celebrate the centenary of the birth of Mies van der Rohe (Germany, 1886-United States, 1969). The film begins and ends with images of the construction of the German Pavilion for the Barcelona International Exposition in 1929, for which she designed her famous Barcelona chair.
The chronological account of the work is interspersed with Mies’s own expressions of recordings from files. The screening is part of the cycle organized by the College of Architects of the Balearic Islands in collaboration with Obra Social La Caixa.
