‘Matar a Platón’, in concert

With this work, the Spanish poet and philosopher of Belgium origen Chantal Maillard (Brussels, 1951) won the National Poetry Prize in 2004. This was not the only award given in Spain to this creative artist specialized in Hinduism. In 2007, with Hilos  (Wire), she was awarded the Critics' Prize Andalusia and the Critics Award of Spanish poetry.

Now she offers us this poetic musical staging Matar a Platón (Killing Plato), also involving Barbara Meyer (cello) and Chafa Alonso (percussion and clarinet).

Held within the frame of the II Festival Miradas de Mujeres de Mallorca (II Festival Views of Women from Mallorca), organized by the association Mujeres en las Artes Visuales (MAV)( Women in the Visual Arts) with activities throughout the month of March. Nearly thirty spaces around the island have joined the initiative, which has more than fifty participants including artists, curators and lecturers.

The festival aims to get the exposure and spread the work carried out by women in the art world in Spain deserves. It is celebrated simultaneously in the rest of the autonomous communities.
