'La llum del fragment', by Rafael Tur Costa

The contemporary art museum of Palma Es Baluard hosts, for the first time, a selection of works by the Ibizan artist Rafael Tur Costa from the fifties to the present in the exhibition La llum del fragment (The light of the fragmen.

In 1955 Rafael Tur Costa (Santa Eulàlia des Riu, 1927) met the members of the Hochschule Für Bildende Künste in Berlin, a group of German fine arts students that put him in touch with the artistic approaches of the European avant-garde. Four years later The Ibiza 59 group was formed, with which he maintains a constant relationship.

His first works are abstract, to give way in the decade of the seventies to the concern for matter and textures, which he has maintained throughout his career.
