This exhibition, curated by Fernando Gómez de la Cuesta, focuses on the sculptures of Mallorcan artist Lawrence Ginard (Manacor, 1935), also a painter and draftsman. Girard has been part of some of the most interesting collective proposals emerged in the Balearic Islands in the sixties and seventies, as the Grup Frac and Grup Dimecres.
The exhibition will be a retrospective tour through the sculptural work of the author, from his years in academia through his first forays into the avant-garde (Futurism, spatialism or metaphysical Constructivism), reaching the consolidation of a language that has its essence in Mediterranean-ness and culminates with a more existentialist character.
The exhibition Llorenç Ginard. Esculturas (Sculptures) has the collaboration of the City Council of Manacor.
