This is the new documentary by Rolando Almirante which CineCiutat premieres exclusively in Europe on the occasion of the international workshop held by the Cuban filmmaker from 18 to 20 November in Sa Possessió in Palma.
The legend of Arsenio (2012) tells the life and work of musician Arsenio Rodríguez (1911-1970), one of the most important figures in the history of Cuba. Known as 'El Ciego Maravilloso' (The Wonderful Blind), he played a leading role in the development of the so-called son montuno, a genre of Cuban music which from the seventies onwards became known as salsa.
