A new date in the framework of the festivities of San Sebastián, the city’s patron saint since 1634. El Dia de la Pesta (Plague Day) aims to pay tribute to the historical roots of the festival, linked to the devotion to San Sebastià as a protector against the plague.
According to tradition, a relic of his served to stop an outbreak of the black plague, reinforcing his fame as a protector and consolidating his role as patron saint of Palma.

5:00 p.m.: Beginning of la Peste in Plaza de Cort
5:30 p.m.: Departure of la Peste procession
6:00 p.m.: Arrival at the Plaza de Llorenç Bisbal and delivery of the relics
