The light and the Mediterranean landscape were key pieces in a generation of artists who devoted themselves to painting in Mallorca, between the late nineteenth century and the early twentieth century. Many of them came from abroad and others were born in Mallorca. And all of them form the artistic history of the island of the twentieth century.
This exhibition of paintings presented by the Gallery Dionís Bennàssar of Pollença brings together medium format works of these artists, most of them done in oil or watercolor in which predominate the landscape of Mallorca.
In La deixa del geni we find paintings by Anglada Camarasa, Tito Cittadini, Dionís Bennàssar, Llorenç Cerdà, Vives Llull, Roch Minué, Ferran Arasa, López Naguil, Seguí Palou, Guillem Bestard and Mateu Llobera.
