It is the most famous work of French playwright Edmond Rostand (1868-1918), premiered to great acclaim at the Théâtre de la Renaissance in Paris in 1897 and now considered a classic of French theater. It is based on the figure of the poet, playwright and philosopher Cyrano de Bergerac, libertine intellectual contemporary of Moliere.
Oriol Broggi directs this production with a cast of actors in which appear Pere Arquillué, Marta Betriu, Bernat Quintana and Ramon Vila, among others. The stage design is by Max Glaenzel and costume work by Berta Riera.
Cyrano is a man whose default, a disproportionate nose, makes him brighter, but also makes him suffer terribly, a man who ends up seducing not by his physics, but through thought, poetry and sharp language.
