Chacovachi, street artist and one of the greatest clowns of Argentina, lands in Palma by 9circ & Festival Circ de les Cultures for the masterclass Manual y guía del artista callejero (Manual and guide for the street artist) and this show which is held today at the Teatre Mar i Terra.
Formed at the school of Mime Angel Elizondo, Fernando Cavarozzi began his career in 1983, after the Falklands War, and in 1985 coined his stage name Chacovachi, a deformation of the name of a village of Rio Negro: Ingeniero Jacobacci. He was one of the first street artists from Argentina working as a street clown: first in Parque Centenario, Parque Lezama and later in Plaza Francia, where he worked for 15 years and forged his name as an artist of reference.
His great contribution to the world of the clown is his style, talkative, hard-hitting, incisive, direct and seeking public reaction through human and social reflections, with a strong acid humor. A style that marked a trend in successive generations of clowns in Argentina.
The Clown Chacovachi is the director of the Argentinean Convencion of Circus, Clowns and Street Entertainment, considered the largest congress of humor and circus in Latin- America.Apart from that, he also chairs the Foundation Humor y Circo Argentino Para El Mundo, which collaborates with various Argentine institutions for development of circus projects.
