This film by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth opens the First Cycle of Art Cinema, a small sample of the International Festival which takes place every spring in Barcelona. The cycle is held every Wednesday in December and January at CineCiutat and the films will be projected in original version subtitled in Catalan.
La Cinquième Saison loses the trilogy consisting of Altiplano and Khadak and has as its central theme the troubled relationship between man and nature. After their documentary experience through different territories of the world, in this latest installment Brosens and Woodworth return to their native Belgium to film in the country house they own in the village Condrox.
In the film they talk of a time of climate changes, a winter that never ends, a spring that never comes, disappearing bees, cows that do not give any more milk ... La Cinquième Saison won the Special Jury Prize at the Seminci 2012 the FIPRESCI Award and the Prize of Youth.
