'El castigo sin venganza'

After its acclaimed staging of El perro del hortelano, the National Company of Classical Theater returns to immerse us in this celebration of  word and wit that is Lope de Vega with the twilight tragedy of honor El castigo sin venganza ( Punishment without revenge).

A deep reflection on power, justice, responsibility, love and desire, set in the political context of the city-states faced in the turbulent Italy of the end of the quattrocento. The dramatist draws a conjugal honor drama where the characters face their conscience with an unknown intensity.

Directed by Helena Pimenta, El castigo sin venganza has set design by Mónica Teijeiro and costumes by Gabriela Salaverri. It is interpreted by Lola Baldrich, Beatriz Arguello, Joaquín Notario, Rafa Castejón, Nuria Gallardo, Javier Collado, Alejandro Pau, Fernando Trujillo and Íñigo Álvarez de Lara. Language: Spanish
