Anna Maria Ricart and Carme Portacelli adapt Isabel Allende's famous work La casa de los espíritus (The House of spirits) published in 1982, which tells the adventures and misadventures of four generations of the Trueba family. The novel reviews, in a parallel way, the social and political movements in the history of postcolonial Chile, ending in a dramatic way with a coup and the Pinochet dictatorship.
A granddaughter who finds her grandmother's diaries and begins to write the family's history is the trigger for the plot of The House of Spirits, starring a series of women.
This co-production of Teatro Español, Grec 2020 Festival de Barcelona and Teatre Romea is performed by Jordi Collet, Carmen Conesa, Inma Cuevas, David Fernández 'Fabu', Gabriela Flores, Francesc Garrido, Miranda Gas, Borja Luna, Pilar Matas and G. Serrano.
