‘Cartes a Bach’

This interdisciplinary show of music, dance and theater invites us to enjoy the music of the great maestro Johann Sebastian Bach through two exceptional women who shared his life and who were an important pillar in his musical career: Maria Bàrbara Bach, the first wife of the German composer, and the soprano Anna Magdalena Bach, his second wife. Cartes a Bach opens the FestMusic Mallorca.

Cartes a Bach is the interpretation by cellist Gabriel Fiol of Johann Sebastian Bach's Suite I, II and III for solo cello. The figures of Maria Bàrbara and Anna Magdalena will be performed by Carme Garí and Maria Estelrich, respectively, who will accompany them throughout the concert, contextualizing each of the Suites at a moment in the maestro's life. With stage direction by Bernat Pujol and the accompaniment of the dancer Nathalie Quaglia.
