This famous French comic opera, with music by Georges Bizet and based on the novel Carmen by Prosper Merimee has had several adaptations to dance. One of them this one presented by Compañia Aida Gómez premiered in 2006 at the Teatro Villamarta in Jerez.
The artistic direction and choreography are by Aida Gomez herself, with stage direction by Emilio Sagi and musical direction by José A. Rodriguez, author of some of the pieces that can be heard in the show along with music of Bizet.
The main roles are played by Aida Gomez (Carmen), José Huertas (Don Jose), Christian Lozano (Escamillo), Eduardo Carranza (Lillas Pastia), Montse Vindel (Manuelita) and Fermin C. Mora (Zuniga).
The cast of dancers is formed by: Rocío Muñoz, Sara Martin, Rocío Osuna, Maria Jimenez, Laia Salvador, Maria Alonso, Barbara Moreno, Yolanda Murillo, Maximiliano Rebman, Juan Carlos Fernandez, Francisco Morgado, Daniel Vegas, Emilio Serrano and Carlos Rodriguez.
