Pablo Messiez's latest creation comes in the form of music. Released September 2019, Las canciones (The Songs) tells how a group of people get together to listen to various musical pieces. And what was initially a harmless event, a group of people listening to and singing songs, ends up transforming them all.
Messiez has relied on characters and situations from the Chekhov theater, especially from The Three Sisters and Ivanov. The fact of listening, and the fact of not listening, of the absence of sound, is one of the tools that the Argentine theater director uses to delve into the human condition, into the mystery of existence.
Las canciones are performed by Javier Ballesteros, Carlota Gaviño, Rebeca Hernando, José Juan Rodríguez, Íñigo Rodríguez-Claro, Joan Solé and Mikele Urroz. Language: Spanish.
