El Verdugo a film from 1963 written by Jose Luis Garcia Berlanga and Rafael Azcona, is one of the masterpieces of cinema history. Based on two real events: the execution of Menorcan Pedro Tudurí Vidal in Palma on February 21, 1951 at the hands of executioner Florentino Fuentes Estébanez; and of Pilar Prades in 1959, known as the "poisoner of Valencia 'who was the last executed woman in Franco's Spain.
Parting from this film, David Mataró has written and directed this monologue in which the actor Salvador Oliva reveals the ghosts of the men who make execution their way of life. Audiovisuals by Riki F. Peña and staging by Jesus Garcia Mateos. Cycle 80: 1936-2016.
