‘BB King: The Life of Riley’

This documentary film, which pays tribute to the legendary blues musician B.B. King and his lasting impact on music, opens the Music and Film Series of the 16th edition of the Jazz Voyeur Festival.

Directed by Jon Brewer, and narrated by Morgan Freeman, it presents an intimate and authentic account of B.B.'s life. King, from his humble beginnings in the American South to becoming one of the most influential guitarists of all time. The film unravels the personal life of B.B. King, exploring his difficult childhood, his struggles and triumphs throughout his career, and his significant contribution to the blues genre.

In addition to personal stories, B.B. King: The Life of Riley (2012) features iconic performances from the artist, capturing his unparalleled talent and charismatic stage presence. The film also examines BB King's fight for racial equality in the music industry and his commitment to music education. It is projected on VOSE.

Since its inception, the Jazz Voyeur Festival has been synonymous with high quality. Its director Roberto Menéndez, passionate about this musical genre, has been in charge of putting together a program that has contributed to elevating the local music scene and has managed to bring jazz fans from all over the world to discover Mallorca.

This sixteenth edition offers five concerts from November 4 to December 15, 2023, plus a Music and Film Series and four master classes taught by the main artists that make up this year's lineup. Both the music and film series and the master classes are free of charge.
