This work by Sebastià Ruby from Manacor, with music by Antoni Maria Servera, premiered with great success on February 16, 1935 at the Teatre Principal de Manacor. Over time, it has become a comedy reference in town.
The story of Ai Quaquín , que has vengut de prim! (Oh Quaquín, you've come to thin!), situates us in the day of Sant Antoni, when the parents of Quaquín receive a letter announcing his return from Argentina. The illiteracy of the parents creates a web of confusion that ends with the fictional funeral of the son and the return of Quaquín, thinner than when he left.
The production features of Banda de Música de Manacor stage direction by Joan Toni Sunyer and musical direction by Eduard Bernabeu, besides the participation of the Cor de Cambra Ars Antiqua.
Interpreted by Daniele Fregapane (tenor), Cristina Brunet (soprano), Montse Mozo (soprano), Jaume Obrador (baritone), Sergi Gil (tenor), Núria Martín (mezzosoprano) and Ferran Montero (baritone).
