This adaptation of Patricia Highsmith’s novel is the first title of the two film noir screenings organised by Palma City Council.
Tom Ripley (Alain Delon), a fortune hunter, is sent to Italy by Mr Greenleaf to find his son Philip, a spoiled playboy, and bring him back to the United States. In exchange he will receive 5.000 dollars. Philip deceives Tom by pretending that he is determined to return, but he has no intention of leaving his fiancée or fulfilling his father’s wishes.
