‘À bout de souffle’

French film from 1960 directed by Jean-Luc Godard and filmed in black and white. À bout de souffle was Godard's first feature film, who also wrote the screenplay along with director, critic and actor François Truffaut, one of the fathers of the New Wave movement.

 

It stars Jean-Paul Belmondo in the role of Michel, an offender who, after stealing a car in Marseille, takes a trip to Paris to collect money owed but on the way he kills a traffic cop. It won a Silver Bear for Best Director at the International Film Festival of Berlin of 1960.

À bout de souffle is part of the cycle Cinefilms organized by CineCiutat which includes twelve classics of film history in original version with subtitles in Castilian. It is held every Thursday from 24 January to 11 April.
